Don't abuse the priveledge and respect their license agreement. As an educator who uses LOTS of professional 3D and 2D software packages Autodesk's approach to student licenses are the best deal going bar none. If you are a student and are learning Maya use the student license to creat artworks and models you give away for free while you build a reputation for yourself. If you want to use Maya to generate income then buy a real license. Under the terms of the Autodesk License I must do this.Įnough said. This is because I use Maya as a freelance artist and rely on it to generate income.
While I could get Maya under the same educational discount I own a real license.
I teach Maya at a local community college. Once you graduate get a real license and make some money Create lots of models and 3D art and give it away while you are a student and earn a reputation. You are getting a fantastic deal of thousands of dollars of software for free to use while you are a student. You are bound by the license restrictions set by Autodesk.
